Minister of Emergency Situations of Armenia Andranik Piloyan today received Head of the Delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Armenia Thierry Ribaux.

As reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations, Minister Piloyan greeted the guests and, among the several humanitarian and instructive programs, he placed special emphasis on the invaluable role that the ICRC played in the process of searching for and removing the remains of servicemen killed during the 44-day war and in supporting the return of Armenian captives.

In his turn, Mr. Thierry Ribaux expressed gratitude for the cordial reception and added that the ICRC is considering two courses for development of the cooperation with the Ministry of Emergency Situations — bringing the legislation on civil defense into compliance with international laws and organizing training in the field of international humanitarian law.

At the end of the meeting, the parties signed the 2021-22 Action Plan for Bringing the National Legislation of Armenia on Civil Defense into Compliance with the Criteria of International Humanitarian Law.
