Armenia plans to digitize winemaking, which will allow to oversee the whole process of winemaking. This is what Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan said during today’s discussion on the draft state budget for 2022 held as part of the joint session of parliamentary standing committees.

According to him, this year it was possible to avoid problems with purveyance of grapes.

The minister emphasized that the agriculture sector is in need of major reforms and that increase of productivity of agriculture is the key component for this. “We need to make sure citizens involved in the agriculture sector are able to get rich, not be on the threshold of poverty. This, in essence, is the process of digitization of winemaking. In other words, we have taken photos of all the vineyards, and the whole process of winemaking needs to be digitized so that we can oversee subsidization and procurement transparently,” Kerobyan clarified.
