It is very important for Armenia to have the right strategy for development of winemaking and brandy production. This is what Minister of Economy of Armenia Vahan Kerobyan said during today’s discussion on the draft state budget for 2022 in parliament.

According to him, the Armenian government is about to finish developing a five-year strategy for the development of winemaking.

“The government is about to finish developing the five-year strategy through the Grape and Wine Foundation, and the aim of the strategy is to see the sharp increase in production of wine in Armenia. We are planning to increase production to up to 50,000,000 liters of wine by 2025-26, unlike 12,000,000 in 2020. This needs to be followed by the development of a strategy for brandy production,” the minister emphasized.
