A high commission to investigate the assassination attempt on Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi has been set up in Baghdad. This was announced on Sunday by the Al Arabiya TV channel, TASS reports.

Meanwhile, sappers defused an unexploded shell that was found on the roof of the head of government's residence in a well-fortified "green zone" in the center of the Iraqi capital.

Last night in Baghdad, an attempt was made on the prime minister's life using a mined unmanned aerial vehicle. Al-Kadhimi was not injured, and several of his security personnel were injured as a result of the attack. The residence suffered serious material damage: windows and doors were knocked out in the building, structures were damaged. After that, security measures were significantly increased at all entrances to the green zone.
