In regard to the war, I would like to present some irrefutable and undeniable facts, and the first fact is that the incumbent authorities did everything to make the war inevitable. This is what second President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan stated during the rally held by the opposition “Armenia” Alliance at Freedom Square in Yerevan.
“The authorities led the process of negotiations to failure, moved the discussion on the issue to the field of territorial integrity and, in essence, incited a war. The second fact is that the incumbent authorities did everything for defeat in this war. The defeat began sooner, that is, when they started persecuting heroes, beheading the army and reducing personnel in the army. They needed a loyal army, not a combat-ready army.
The third fact is that Armenia was left alone during the 44-day war. Diplomacy completely failed. No country condemned the country that unleashed the war. Nothing like this had happened since the end of WWII. Now these authorities want to open an era of peace in the region. You’re not in a situation to do that,” Kocharyan said, adding that the fourth fact is that the authorities rejected the opportunity to stop the war on October 19 and, according to some information, on October 7. “I can bring many other facts, but this is enough. These facts are stated in the confessional speeches and statements of officials, and they will be held liable for all this,” Kocharyan said.
