At the end of its rally at Freedom Square today, the opposition “Armenia” Alliance adopted a declaration. The latter reads as follows:

“Accepting as a basis the declaration of independence of Armenia and the declaration of proclaiming the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic which express the unified will of the Armenian people, reaffirming the commitment to protect the integral rights and vital interests of the Armenian people,

Taking into account the fact that the incumbent authorities are disastrous for Armenia, Artsakh and Armenians; the force symbolizing defeat can’t ensure peace, dignity and development and the ruling force is ready to make new concessions and make the country lose sovereignty in order to maintain power,

Taking into account the serious regional and geopolitical challenges resulting from the war unleashed by Azerbaijan and Turkey; Turkey’s aspirations to become established in the region through political and economic expansion; the aim of the Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem to obtain the maximum from the results of the 44-day war (emptying of Armenians from Artsakh and satisfying the territorial pretensions towards Armenia); Azerbaijan’s renunciation of the world’s perception of the essence and format of the Artsakh conflict and the fundamental principles of the peaceful settlement and Azerbaijan’s attempts to restrict the peacekeeping mission of the Russian Federation and resume the war,

Recording that the power of one person has been established in Armenia and the state institutions are disbanded; the power structures are used to serve the goal of maintaining power and Armenia is no longer a legal, democratic and social state,

Being certain that the final outcome of any process implying viable concessions of Armenia and Armenians will be the collapse of Armenian statehood; the guarantee for development of Armenia as a national and sovereign state is the protection and strengthening of its geopolitical significance and the rights of the generations; the existence and security of Armenia and Artsakh are interconnected; the guarantee for ensuring a fair solution to the Artsakh issue and sustainable peace is the unconditional exercise of the right of peoples to equal rights and self-determination by ruling out the stipulation of Artsakh with any status within Azerbaijan; it is necessary to restore the commitment of Armenia to guarantee security of the people of Artsakh and exercise of the right to self-determination; any person officially representing the Republic of Armenia may not sign any political or military document  by violating the procedures provided for by the Constitution and laws,

The participants of the rally declare:

With the purpose of neutralizing the external dangers, ruling out the emptying of Armenians from Artsakh and the Turkification of Armenia, establishing solidarity in domestic affairs and consolidating all Armenians, we are laying the foundation for a pan-national resistance in Armenia, Artsakh and the Diaspora.

The goal remains the same, and that is to get rid of the force symbolizing defeat, restore the sovereignty of Armenia and the dignity of Armenians.

This is not the resistance of one force or one alliance. It is the task of every dignified Armenian.

This struggle might last a week or months until victory. This implies the consistent and daily efforts and actions of each and every one of us.

We are starting to self-organize. Our presence in the National Assembly will serve for empowerment of the resistance. If the time comes, we will lead the struggle only on the streets and at squares.

The regime symbolizing defeat will be forced to step down. Syunik Province will not be ceded, Armenians will not be emptied from Artsakh, and Armenia will not be Turkified.

Armenia will be a sovereign state, Armenians will live in a just and strong country. Armenians around the world will walk with their heads up high.”
