Former press secretary of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia, Artsrun Hovhannisyan—whom the society links to the dissemination of disinformation by the authorities during the Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war last fall—has been appointed an expert to the National Assembly Standing Committee on Defense and Security.

The appointment was announced at Tuesday’s meeting of this committee by its chairman Andranik Kocharyan, an MP from the ruling Civil Contract Party.

According to Kocharyan, Hovhannisyan will help this parliamentary committee in matters related to the military sphere.

"After all, he not only teaches, but also has a lot of experience," the pro-government lawmaker added.
