  • November 9, 2021 marks one year since the end of the second Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) war.

In the morning, Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan visited Yerablur Military Pantheon in Yerevan.

The press service of the US Department of State has issued a statement on the one-year anniversary. They 'call for the return of all remaining detainees, a full accounting of missing persons', 'comprehensive humanitarian de-mining', and access 'by international humanitarian organizations to those in need.'

Meanwhile, Russian president's spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the statement is extremely important. According to him, these are documents that enabled to end the war and stand on the path to the peaceful development'.

  • At around 3pm on Monday, a yet unidentified serviceman of the Azerbaijani armed forces entered—from an area currently under the control of the Azerbaijani army—the place called "under Shushi" on the Shushi-Berdzor motorway in Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), and opened fire on waterline repairmen, informed the Artsakh Investigative Committee.

As a result, Martik Yeremyan, a Stepanakert resident born in 1998, died on the spot after receiving a gunshot wound to the head, while Gevorg Melkumyan, Gagik Ghazaryan, and Armen Sargsyan sustained gunshot wounds.

A criminal case has been launched.

"Dear friends, according to my petition, I have been dismissed from the post of the prime minister's press secretary," Mane Gevorgyan wrote on her Facebook.

"I apologize to all those whose hopes I have not lived up to in this position. I also thank the journalists for the productive cooperation," Gevorgyan added.

  • Azerbaijan has made threats against Defense Minister Arshak Karapetyan of Armenia.

The Armenian Ministry of Defense had announced Monday about Karapetyan's upcoming visit to Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), and this announcement caused a nervous reaction in Azerbaijan—even a hysteria by its Ministry of Defense.

A respective statement from the Azerbaijani defense ministry assesses Karapetyan's forthcoming visit to Artsakh as "illegal" and "provocative," and aimed at "destabilizing the situation in the region and casting a shadow over the activities of Russian peacekeepers."

  • As of Tuesday morning, 1,121 new cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in Armenia, and the total number of these cases has reached 322,364 in the country.

Also, 62 more deaths from COVID-19 were registered, making the respective total 6,762 cases.
