Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today received outgoing UN Resident Coordinator in Armenia Shombi Sharp.

The Armenian premier highly appreciated Mr. Sharp’s work for development of the cooperation between Armenia and UN agencies, attached importance to the assistance provided by the UN to overcome the consequences of the coronavirus pandemic and regretted that the humanitarian aid of the United Nations is still unavailable for the people of Nagorno-Karabakh. In the context of Sustainable Development Agenda 2030, the premier emphasized that the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework 2021-2025 signed between the Government of Armenia and the United Nations is important for Armenia.

Expressing gratitude for the appreciation, Sharp stated that it was a great honor for him to serve in Armenia and highly appreciated the cooperation with the Government of Armenia, evidence of which are the effective joint programs.

The interlocutors exchanged views on the agenda for the Armenia-UN partnership, as well as peace and stability in the region.

Prime Minister Pashinyan wished Sharp all the best and said he will always remain a good friend of Armenia and the Armenian people.
