In the one year since the trilateral declaration of November 9, 2020, the Azerbaijani side has deliberately and purposefully continued its criminal actions against the people of Artsakh, about which we have repeatedly stated and informed international organizations and human rights organizations over the past year. This is noted in a statement by Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) Human Rights Ombudsman Gegham Stepanyan.

"Although the large-scale hostilities were stopped by the announcement, the aggressive hostilities by the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem have been transformed into planned and coordinated actions to intimidate the population of Artsakh, to devoid Artsakh of Armenians.

The statistics presented by the Prosecutor's Office of the Artsakh Republic show that during the past year 56 crimes were committed by the Azerbaijani armed forces located near the civilian settlements of the Artsakh Republic, in connection with which 43 criminal cases were initiated.

As a result of Azerbaijani criminal acts, 2 [Artsakh] civilians and 9 servicemen were killed, 24 civilians and 44 servicemen were attempted to be killed, 9 civilians and 28 servicemen received gunshot wounds of various degrees, 6 people were physically assaulted, 2 were threatened with death.

As a result of [Azerbaijani] criminal encroachments on property rights, property damage of 17,710,000 drams was caused to [Artsakh] individuals. As a result of [Azerbaijani] deliberate destruction of property or carrying out criminal intent to damage property, 5 residential houses, 3 agricultural machinery, 7 vehicles, 2 construction equipment were hit or targeted, 3 orchards and arable land were set on fire, a large number of cattle were targeted with long-range firearms.

Over the past year, shots have been regularly fired from Azerbaijani bases deployed near Armenian settlements, whose bullets have fallen on the roofs of houses or in public places, thereby violating the psychological immunity of the civilian population.

A report on the details of all the registered cases and their consequences will be prepared by the staff of the Artsakh Human Rights Ombudsman for submission to international bodies," also reads the statement by the Artsakh Human Rights Ombudsman.
