YEREVAN. – Hraparak daily of Armenia writes: The relations between Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)] President Arayik Harutyunyan and [former defense minister] Samvel Babayan have become tense. Harutyunyan is actively working in that direction. His close circles give interviews against Babayan, try to put most of the accountability for the [defeat in last year’s] war on his shoulders (…).

The issue is that there is a fierce struggle in Artsakh over who will avoid becoming a sacrificial lamb [for this defeat].

The thing is that [Armenia’s PM] Nikol Pashinyan is preparing a big theater soon. (…) some will be "sacrificed."

The [Armenian] authorities believe that the defeat in the war will not be digested one way or another, it will accumulate, and at some point it will make the people stand up; so, it is necessary to direct the dissatisfaction toward a certain course and to deliver big "sharks" to the society.

According to that, those guilty [for the defeat in the war] should be sought in Artsakh—in the Arayik Harutyunyan-[ex-defense minister] Jalal Harutyunyan-Samvel Babayan triangle—presenting that they were the main actors of the war. And Arayik Harutyunyan has decided to turn Samvel Babayan into a "sacrificed."
