The Russian and New Nakhichevan Diocese of the Armenian Holy Apostolic Church has endorsed the deputy of the Parliament of Finland who is charged with offending representatives of sexual minorities. This is stated in the statement issued by the Christian Interconfessional Advisory Committee and posted on the website of the Division for Church Relations Abroad of the Patriarchate in Moscow.

“We support the Christians who, in spite of the fact that liberalism is gaining momentum, stay true to the conventional principles of their faith and don’t refuse to protect the biblical and moral values. We join all the brothers and sisters who definitely defend the truth of the Bible and are not losing hope that reason and intelligence will win,” the statement reads.

The statement states that MP Pyayvi Ryasanen cited the remarks of Paul the Apostle about people who ‘desecrated their bodies’. According to the authors of the statement, in the modern world, the concept of truth is being replaced by the concept of pluralism, “meaning the true and false opinions are on the same level”.
