A military tribunal of Myanmar has sentenced U.S. journalist Danny Fenster to 11 years in prison under several charges, including ‘inciting dissemination of false or provocative information’, AP reports.

Fenster, the editor of Frontier Myanmar, is also charged with contacting illegal organizations and violating the visa regime, his attorney Tan Zau Aung said.

Fenster was arrested at the international airport in Yangon on May 24 when he was preparing to board the plane flying to the United States. He is the only foreign journalist who has been sentenced for a heavy crime after the army seized power in February.
