We are building many roads in Syunik [Province] now and will continue to build [them]—starting from important strategic roads, starting from the Sisian-Kajaran and other sections of the North-South [road corridor], to the field roads. Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia, told reporters this on Friday.

He noted that next year alone, about 500 kilometers of field roads are planned, either to plan or to build a part of them.

"There are inter-community roads, national roads; that is, there are many programs some of which were not planned, some were planned, some of them currently have problems. So, it is a process, we are doing it," Sanosyan said.

And speaking about the Goris-Kapan motorway some sections of which are currently under Azerbaijani control, the minister emphasized: "Right now the [road] builders are working in the direction of Vorotan, Bardzravan, Shurnukh [villages], of all those communities; they are improving the roads as much as possible. All the mentioned communities have communication now, too, there is transport, there is movement.”
