Lawyer Rafayel Amirkhanyan informed that the Criminal Court of Appeal of the Republic of Armenia (RA) has ruled that Janibek Hayrapetyan, a former MP from the opposition Prosperous Armenia Party, be released from custody.

"The RA Criminal Court of Appeal (…) granted my appeal, overturned the decision of the Court of First Instance, and released Janibek Hayrapetyan from custody. Ultimately, justice prevailed (…), " the attorney wrote in a Facebook post.

Hayrapetyan had been charged under the Criminal Code article on intentionally causing bodily harm to another person, or causing other serious damage to that person’s health.
