The Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center in Yerevan admitted a 12-year-old child with four amputated fingers. This is what Spokesperson of Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center Gevorg Derdzyan wrote on his Facebook page, adding the following:

“The incident took place when the child was playing with a dog. Instead of a leash, the dog was tied to a steel rope, the other edge of which was wrapped around the child’s fingers, it stretched while the child was running and cut four fingers of the child.

The child underwent a ten-hour surgery during which the plastic surgeons conducted replantation of the fingers.

Surb Astvatsamayr Medical Center urges to use specifically designed leashes for pets and animals in yards in order to avoid such horrible incidents.”
