The American corporation Intel received a refusal from the US authorities to offer to expand its production in China in order to overcome the shortage of microcircuits, the Bloomberg agency reported.

According to it, Intel's management has previously approached the US authorities with a proposal to increase the production of silicon wafers, which are one of the key components of semiconductors. For this purpose, it was proposed to use the company's plant in Chengdu.

According to the plans announced by the company, increased production could begin by the end of 2022. At the same time, Intel planned to expand development and production in the United States in parallel. The administration of US President Joe Biden categorically rejected Intel's proposal to ramp up production in China, Bloomberg sources say.
