The search work to find the bodies of those killed in the last Artsakh war has been suspended since October 18, Hunan Tadevosyan, head of the public relations department of the State Emergency Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Artsakh, wrote on his Facebook.

“According to an agreement reached in advance with the Russian peacekeeping forces, the ICRC mission and the Azerbaijani side, with the active participation of the State Emergency Service of the Artsakh Ministry of Internal Affairs, on November 13, 2020, the process of searching, detecting and exchanging bodies began in Shushi," the statement said.

On that day, for the first time, Armenians and Azerbaijanis met face to face and held negotiations around the exchange of bodies of dead servicemen.

As a result of a year-long search and the transfer of bodies of the dead by Azerbaijan, the remains of 1,697 dead soldiers and civilians were found.
