The Central Electoral Commission has summed up the final voter turnout results as of 8pm in Sunday’s local elections in several urban and rural communities of Armenia.

Accordingly, a record high voter turnout was registered in Kapan, the administrative capital of Syunik Province, with 63.48%.

In contrast, voter turnout was just 37.43% in Ijevan, the administrative capital of Tavush Province, 38.3% in Stepanavan city of Lori Province, 28.87% in Lermontovo village of Lori Province, and 25.39% in Arzni village of Kotayk Province.

And the overall voter turnout as of 8pm was 47.4%, or 38,295 out of 80,798 voters.

The polls closed at 8pm, and the counting of ballots is in progress.
