Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Mher Grigoryan today received World Bank (WB) Vice-President for Europe and Central Asia Anna Bjerde.

As reported the Government of Armenia, the Deputy Prime Minister greeted the guest and expressed gratitude to the WB, particularly the team in Armenia for supporting Armenia in a period of many challenges, underscoring the role of the WB’s assistance in the fight against the coronavirus pandemic.

WB Vice-President Anna Bjerde expressed gratitude for the reception and stressed that the WB and other partners for Armenia’s development have rated the Program of the Government as a targeted and comprehensive program for resisting the challenges. On behalf of the WB, Anna Bjerde expressed willingness to continue to support the implementation of the programs predetermined for the government.

The parties particularly attached importance to the reforms in public governance, including the process of digitization and the actions aimed at increasing effectiveness of the public administration system. They also exchanged views on the popularization of COVID-19 vaccination and attached importance to the growth of public confidence in vaccination. The development of green economy in Armenia and the need for the government to introduce tools promoting the development of green economy were also touched upon.
