The priority task of all of us is the removal of the Azerbaijani armed forces and all other servicemen from near our villages and roads—and we have the grounds for that. The Human Rights Defender (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Armenia (RA), Arman Tatoyan, wrote this on Facebook. He noted as follows:

“1. Near our villages and on the roads are those Azerbaijani services that tortured, killed our servicemen and civilians during the [Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh)] war [last fall] and were not punished for that.

2. This threat has not disappeared. The Azerbaijani authorities have further deepened their Armenophobia and propaganda of enmity [against Armenians].

3. Political interests should not hinder the security of our country and each of us, the resolution of these crucial issues concerning our most vital rights.

4. The presence of the Azerbaijani armed servicemen near our villages and on the roads is in itself a gross and massive violation of the life, free movement, and other vital rights of the RA population, a real threat to security.

5. Therefore, the priority task of all of us (each for our part) is the removal of the Azerbaijani armed forces and all other servicemen from near our villages and roads—and we have the grounds for that. This especially refers to the Azerbaijani invasions in our country; they should also be punished for their criminal acts.

6. Everything else is secondary, everything else is inferior.”
