The Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin is following with concern the military operations unleashed by Azerbaijan on the eastern border of Armenia that may turn into a large-scale war. This is stated in the press release issued by the Information System of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.

“Azerbaijan, overlooking the conditions stated in the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, is showing that it has new pretensions, and this time against the sovereign territories of Armenia.

The Armenian Holy Apostolic Church calls on the international community, inter-church and interreligious structures and the leaders of Sister Churches to use all available measures to speak out and suspend the subsequent encroachments of the Azerbaijani side for the salvation of human lives and protection of fundamental rights and for prevention of a new tragedy.

The Armenian Church urges the sons of the Armenian nation around the world to support the homeland and put in all efforts to call the attention of international organizations to the mentioned condemnable actions that are once again destabilizing the situation in the region and undermining the fragile peace that was established after paying a high price.

The Catholicos of All Armenians and the clergy pray for the steadfastness of the Armenian statehood, the unity and strong will of the nation and the courageous spirit of the defenders of the homeland to overcome these challenges and restore peace, security and dignified life of our people,” the statement of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin reads.
