President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today held phone talks with Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in regard to the situation created on the border as a result of Azerbaijan’s military aggression, the press release of the Staff of the President of Armenia reads.

“The situation created as a result of the attack of the Azerbaijani side was discussed. The Prime Minister provided information on the encroachments of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the borders and territorial integrity of Armenia and presented the actions being taken by the Armenian Armed Forces.

The Staff of the President of Armenia is also in constant contact with the heads of the relevant competent bodies.

Taking into consideration the fact that President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian had planned to attend The Bloomberg New Economy international conference in Singapore, it was considered appropriate for the President of Armenia to take advantage of this influential international platform and present the troubling situation on Armenia’s borders, touch upon the encroachments of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces against the borders and territorial integrity of Armenia, as well as the return of Armenian prisoners of war being illegally held in Azerbaijan. Among the participants of the conference will be world leaders, as well as leaders of international organizations and corporations and influential media outlets,” the press release reads.
