Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan today held phone talks with President of the European Council Charles Michel, at the initiative of the latter, the press release issued by the Government of Armenia reports.

“The interlocutors discussed the current situation on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

The President of the European Council expressed deep concern about the current situation and considered further expansion of the hostilities inadmissible.

The Prime Minister stated that the authorities of Azerbaijan are intentionally escalating the situation with the purpose of aborting implementation of the agreements of November 9, 2020 and January 11, 2021. Nikol Pashinyan mentioned that the international community shouldn’t stay indifferent towards Azerbaijan’s encroachments against the sovereign territory of Armenia,” the press release reads.
