The Government of Armenia is creating a professional army, and the opposition Members of Parliament have the opportunity to become convinced of this. This is what Chair of the Standing Committee on Defense and Security of the National Assembly of Armenia, deputy of the “Civil Contract” faction Andranik Kocharyan said during today’s discussion on the draft state budget for 2022 in parliament.

“It’s clear that the army needs to undergo structural changes. For instance, there have to be engineering troops which, as a matter of fact, are of vital significance for Armenia. Armenia currently has a structure that is a little different. In addition, the potential of our specialists needs to be used more actively. This requires not only funding, but also an attitude. People in uniforms need to be respected in society,” the MP clarified.
