Georgia’s foreign minister has rejected Turkey’s proposal to be a part of the ‘3+3’ format. What is Armenia’s position on the format? In my interview aired on Armenian Public Television on Nov. 7, I said there is a subtlety for Armenia — it is extremely important that the issues that will be discussed in already established formats, aren’t discussed in the ‘3+3’ format. This is what Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan declared during today’s online press conference, touching upon Georgia’s refusal to participate in the ‘3+3’ regional format and Armenia’s position.

“For instance, we will not discuss the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in the ‘3+3’ format since there is already the format of Co-Chairmanship of the OSCE Minsk Group. Is there a trilateral commission for considering the unblocking of regional communications? It should not be considered in the ‘3+3’ format. The Armenian government’s program clearly states that there will be a special place for regional policy — the relations within the Eurasian Economic Union, with Russia, the Collective Security Treaty Organization, the European Union and the United States are very important, but we want to lead a more active policy in the region. Armenia’s relations with Georgia are also very important. If we see that there is an opportunity to intensify our relations and shape a positive agenda, we might consider the opportunity. This is our position for the time being. The rest will be clear in the future,” Pashinyan declared.
