This was a regular meeting; we meet with the Prime Minister once a month and discuss the events having taken place in the mentioned period. This is what deputy of the “Civil Contract” Faction of the National Assembly of Armenia Hovik Aghazaryan said during a conversation with Armenian News-NEWS.am, touching upon the closed meeting that Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan held with the ruling faction in parliament today.

“This meeting was devoted to the trilateral meeting held in Brussels, and the Prime Minister presented quite a lot of details that hadn’t been presented officially. The processes are such that nobody can say what will happen next. The sides might change their stances after discussions. The progress made is that an agreement has been reached to exploit the railway and later solve the problems with unblocking. There is still no agreement on a document subject to be signed, but nothing is reassuring,” the MP stated.

According to the MP, the upcoming Armenian-Turkish negotiations weren’t really discussed.

“There is nothing unusual. Nobody knows what the negotiations will lead to. In any case, as a country that has taken the initiative to strengthen sustainable peace in the region, Armenia needs to have such contacts, without forgetting many things. It’s too early to talk about expectations. We need to go to negotiations, but not forget about our security issues,” Aghazaryan said.
