It has turned out that in some cases the banks in Armenia have used in violation the money they have received from the state as a subsidy. Hakob Mihranyan, head of one of the departments of the Audit Chamber, said this at Friday’s joint meeting of the standing committees of the parliament—and during the debates on the report on the effectiveness of the state budget execution by the Ministry of Economy for the last six months of 2021.

Audit Chamber official noted that according to the rules, banks in Armenia can apply to the state only in cases when they are ready to provide a loan at no more than 12 percent.

"However, in several cases, subsidies were asked and given at 13.5 percent. These facts will be studied and, if necessary, will be passed to the prosecutor's office," Mihranyan stressed.
