YEREVAN. – Former mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan has submitted a letter of resignation from his seat in the Yerevan Council of Elders. The information was provided to Armenian News-NEWS.am by Iosif Kubatyan, head of the information and public relations department of the Yerevan Municipality.

"The mayor of Yerevan will have to draw up a [respective] record which must be submitted to the Central Electoral Commission, after which the mandate will be considered resigned," he added.

Hayk Marutyan on Wednesday was dismissed from the post of Yerevan Mayor.
