And does Armenia want that not to happen? My impression is that Armenia accepts this situation as normal. The second president of Armenia, leader of the opposition "Armenia" Bloc Robert Kocharyan stated this during his year-end press conference Monday—and referring to the question about the border provocations by Azerbaijan and the inadequate reaction to them by the international community.

"The doubts that, ultimately, whose interests it serves also stem from them because there are no steps aimed at neutralizing all this. They shouted so much, ‘Apply to the CSTO,’ it turned out that they did not even apply. Finally you apply to an organization whose secretary general you were arresting two years ago. Azerbaijan has better relations with all CSTO states than you—a CSTO member country.

"The fact that there is no proportionate reaction from European organizations has recently led the United States to start making statements on the conflict," said the Armenian second president.

According to Kocharyan, this also testifies to the fact that not only is Armenia not fighting for it, but it is also a question whether it wants the international community to intervene in the matter.

"In that case, you will have some difficulties in the matter of providing a corridor, you will have more difficulties in advancing the thesis of the status of Artsakh not in Azerbaijan," he added.
