President of Armenia Armen Sarkissian today sent a condolence telegram to President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulou over the death of ex-President Karolos Papoulias.

“He was an outstanding politician who was unconditionally dedicated to his country and an advocate for freedom and justice. Papoulias was a sincere friend of Armenia and the Armenian people and made tangible contributions to the development of the interstate ties between the Armenian and Greek peoples hinged on historical and cultural relations and common spiritual values spanning millennia and the cooperation in various sectors," the condolence telegram reads.
