In 2021, Armenia launched 42 cases regarding submission of declarations by officials. This is what member of the Corruption Prevention Commission of Armenia Narek Hambardzumyan said during a discussion today, adding that the Commission has forwarded five materials to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

“In both cases, the declarants failed to give explanations about the inconsistencies, and in both cases, it turned out that the declarants had received more than AMD 3,000,000 in cash as gifts,” he said.

Lilit Aleksanyan, another member of the Commission, said this year the Commission studied 45 applications and publications regarding failure to fulfill requirements and conflict of interests.

“The Commission plans to develop a bill that will concern inconsistencies and conflict of interests. It also plans to introduce a system of declaration of gifts received by officials and develop a methodology for a comprehensive assessment of declarations,” Aleksanyan added.
