Poland hopes the demarcation and delimitation of the border between Armenia and Azerbaijan leads to a positive outcome. This is what Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Poland to Armenia Pavel Ceplak told reporters today, responding to the question on what role Poland can play in the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the solution to the issue as the country that will be chairing the OSCE in 2022.
In particular, this concerns the humanitarian issue and the normalization of Armenian-Azerbaijani relations.
The Polish Ambassador positively assessed the dialogue that Armenia and Turkey have launched for normalization of the bilateral relations, as well as ‘the exchange of positive signals’.
“We know very well that the speedy return of captives is a priority issue for both citizens and the government of Armenia. I believe the meeting in Vienna on Jan. 13 will play an important role in this process,” Ceplak stated.
According to the Ambassador, more detailed information about Poland’s position on the situation and security in the South Caucasus will be provided in 2022.
“In January 2022, the Polish foreign minister will assume chairmanship of the OSCE and will present Poland’s priorities for the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office, including the steps that need to be taken in the South Caucasus,” he added.
