An Iraqi military base near Baghdad International Airport, where US troops are stationed, was hit by a rocket attack on Wednesday, the Associated Press reported, citing the Iraqi military.

The strike was carried out by a Soviet BM-13 rocket artillery vehicle, commonly known as the Katyusha.

There were no reports of destruction or casualties. The Iraqi military said in a statement that the single rocket launcher was located in a residential area in western Baghdad.

The attack was the third in the past few days. On Monday, two armed drones were shot down as they were heading towards a facility housing US advisers at Baghdad airport. On Tuesday, two explosives-laden drones targeting an Iraqi military base housing US troops in western Anbar province were destroyed.
