The CSTO will send peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan. The Prime Minister of Armenia and Chairman-in-Office of the CSTO Collective Security Council, Nikol Pashinyan, informed about this on Facebook. He wrote as follows:
“On the basis of the petition by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and due to the dangers threatening the national security and sovereignty of Kazakhstan, which have come about—including as a result of external interference, the CSTO Collective Security Council, in accordance with Article 4 of the Collective Security Treaty, has made a decision to send CSTO peacekeeping forces to the Republic of Kazakhstan for a limited period of time to stabilize and normalize the situation in that country.”
