The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Armenia has described to Armenpress what mission will be carried out by the country’s servicemen who are leaving for Kazakhstan as part of the CSTO peacekeeping forces.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan commented on whether the Armenian government is going to evacuate the Armenian citizens from Kazakhstan during the current violent unrest in that country. “There is no such plan at this moment,” he said in response.
Also, Hunanyan informed that no Armenian citizen has been injured so far during the ongoing protests in Kazakhstan.
As for the mission of the Armenian peacekeepers who are heading for Kazakhstan, the MFA spokesperson said: “The task of the Armenian peacekeepers will be the protection of strategic facilities.”
