The Taliban called on the world to provide emergency humanitarian aid to Afghanistan without political bias, saying that recent snowfalls and floods have worsened the plight of the Afghan people, AFP reported.

Since the Taliban seized control of Afghanistan in mid-August, the country has plunged into financial chaos, with inflation and unemployment soaring, the news agency noted.

Afghan Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Ghani Baradar said the world has an obligation to help because in different places people have no food, shelter, warm clothes, or money.

“The world must support the Afghan people without any political bias and fulfill its humanitarian obligations," Baradar said.

Snow has blanketed most of central and northern Afghanistan in recent days while flooding has affected parts of the south.
