More than 4,200 people, including—according to preliminary information—citizens of the neighboring country, were detained by the law enforcement agencies after the riots in Kazakhstan, TASS reports.

"4,266 people were brought to the police. Among those detained are foreign nationals. More than 100 people were detained in one of the villages of Almaty region. According to preliminary data, citizens of the neighboring country have been detained," reads the respective statement by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kazakhstan.

Earlier, the ministry reported that up to 4,000 people had been detained in Kazakhstan.
