The transfer of Russian peacekeeping forces to Kazakhstan, where protests had begun, continues, Izvestia reports.
The aviation squad consisting of more than 70 planes of the Russian defense ministry transports to Kazakhstan around the clock the Russian contingent units of the CSTO peacekeeping force, the ministry reported.
The units that have already arrived in Kazakhstan have started fulfilling their tasks.
The CSTO peacekeepers will protect the important state and military facilities of Kazakhstan, and assist the country's law enforcement agencies in stabilizing the situation, the Russian defense ministry added.
