Yerevan draws the attention of the international community to the fact that official Baku continues to violate the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia, the statement of the Armenian Foreign Ministry reads.

"We strongly condemn the gross violation of the ceasefire by the Azerbaijani Armed Forces in the direction of the eastern border of the Republic of Armenia using artillery and UAVs, which resulted in the death of servicemen Artur Mkhitaryan and Rudik Gharibyan, and two more servicemen were wounded.

We express our deepest condolences to the families and friends of the killed servicemen and wish the wounded servicemen a speedy recovery.

The provocation of the Azerbaijani armed forces is yet another manifestation of Azerbaijan's continuing violation of Armenia's territorial integrity, which began on 12 May 2021 by penetrating into Armenia's sovereign territory and has been followed by regular armed attacks.

Armenia draws the attention of the international community to the fact that by continuing violations of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Armenia official Baku violates the basic principles of international law, including the UN Charter, and undermines regional security.

The Armenian side has repeatedly stated that one way to avoid further aggravation of the situation could be the withdrawal of troops from the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the launch of the international monitoring mechanism along the border.

We call on the Azerbaijani authorities to refrain from provocative actions and fulfill their commitments to establish stability in the region in the framework of the trilateral statement adopted in Sochi and the meeting in Brussels."
