Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Said Khatibzadeh condemned Friday's rocket attack on Baghdad International Airport as an attempt to sabotage stability in Iraq, Iran's IRNA news agency reported.

Khatibzadeh said in a statement that such suspicious activities would create instability and chaos, open the way for malevolent forces, and affect the provision of services to Iraqi citizens.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran has always stood for the security, development and integrity of Iraq and has supported the efforts of the Iraqi government to ensure stability," the statement said.

On Friday morning, ten rockets landed at Baghdad International Airport, six of which hit the US base in Victoria.
