The ruling majority “Civil Contract” (CC) Faction is currently holding a closed session in the Armenian parliament. This information was confirmed to Pastinfo by CC faction MP Hrachya Hakobyan—who is also the brother-in-law of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

In this closed session, the faction is debating on the matter of nominating its presidential candidate.

According to media reports, the CC will nominate Vahagn Khachaturyan, the Minister of High-Tech Industry—who has no party affiliation, for the post.

Earlier, there were rumors that the CC was going to nominate Arayik Harutyunyan, the Prime Minister's Chief of Staff.
