The Azerbaijani parliament has approved the so-called "Shushi Declaration" in the first reading.

The draft law "On Approval of the Shushi Declaration on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey" was submitted for debates at Tuesday's plenary session of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, the latter’s media reported.

After the debates, this bill was put to a vote and adopted in the first reading.

The "Shushi Declaration" was signed on June 15, 2021 in the now Azerbaijani-occupied Armenian city of Shushi, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh), by Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Azerbaijan and Turkey, respectively.
