Emergency Situation on the border of Latvia with Belarus, imposed because of the influx of illegal immigrants, extended for another three months and will be valid until May 10, local news agency LETA recorded.

The decision was made at a meeting of the republic's government on Tuesday.

Given the still tense situation with illegal migration on the Latvian-Belarusian border, the government has decided to extend the state of emergency in the regions of Ludza, Kraslava, Augsdaugava and Daugavpils until May 10.
