European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson will visit Azerbaijan on 4 February and the US on 7 February to discuss additional gas supplies to the EU, European Commission spokesman Tim McPhee said at a briefing in Brussels on Tuesday.

As he said, negotiations on gas supplies will continue. Commissioner Simson will travel to Azerbaijan on 4 February to participate in a ministerial meeting of the countries participating in the Southern Gas Corridor. On 7 February, she and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell will travel to the United States to participate in the EU-US Energy Council meeting.
