Armenian Central Bank chair Martin Galstyan has positively assessed the work of the bank in curbing inflation

“If we hadn’t taken measures last year, and they weren’t aimed at the future, that is, if we hadn’t started still earlier than other countries, then our inflation would not be at 12% in terms of food, but general inflation - 15%. And this suggests that inflation in terms of food products could exceed the mark of over 20%,” Galstyan said.

The head of the Central Bank of Armenia also said that they are already predicting figures related to inflation in Armenia by the end of the year.

“We expect to reach our target by the end of the year. The most probable point that we are focusing on at the moment, based on forecasts, is in the range of 5-5.5%,” he added.
