The Armed Forces of Russia and Belarus have launched a joint military exercise "Union Resolute - 2022," which is held at training grounds "Domanovsky," "Gozhsky," "Obuz-Lesnovsky," "Brestsky" and "Osipovichsky, the official website of the Russian Federation Ministry of Defense reported.

"In the course of the stage of combat training at the training grounds the issues of conducting defense and combating with illegal armed formations will be practiced," the ministry's website reads.

The exercises will be held in two stages. From February 2 to 9, the units will redeploy, create groupings of troops and organize the protection and defense of important state and military facilities. It is also planned to test the readiness of the air defense system to cover important facilities in the territory of Belarus.

From February 10 to 20, the allied forces will practice the issues of suppression and repulsion of external aggression, as well as counterterrorism and protection of the interests of the Union State.
