The Czech government agreed to end mandatory coronavirus testing in schools and businesses in February, AP reports.

According to Prime Minister Petr Fiala, testing has undoubtedly helped slow the spread of infections and prevented the healthcare system from being overwhelmed.

Given the situation, we have decided to cancel mandatory testing on February 18, Fiala said.

Employees of all companies are tested twice a week, and schoolchildren and all school employees from January 17 - once a week.
