The basis of the reforms of the Armed Forces should be the man—the military. Tigran Abrahamyan, an MP from the opposition "With Honor" Faction in the National Assembly of Armenia and a security expert, wrote this on Facebook Thursday morning. He added as follows:
"This means that if the issues of professional training of the military, combat-readiness of [military] units, and strong social guarantees are not resolved, then the other elements of changes have a 0 value.
There is no possibility of any effective reform in the army without increasing the appeal of the military profession—regardless of what [military] equipment, weapons are acquired, or what the level of food quality will be reached.
If we cannot bring people with intellect, knowledge, high qualities of patriotism to the armed forces, then a new major crisis is expected in the [Armenian] army in the next 3-5 years—much worse than we had after the 2018 change of power and the 44-day war in 2020."
