Azerbaijan has responded negatively to Armenia's proposals on the matter of border delimitation and demarcation. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan told reporters about this Thursday.

He clarified that various proposals were submitted, to which there was a negative response. Mirzoyan added, however, that this is a consistent process, and there had been respective proposals that were unacceptable for Armenia.

"We [i.e., Armenia] have repeatedly stated that we are interested in the process of delimitation of the border with Azerbaijan," the Armenian FM assured.

He recalled that the prime minister of Armenia as well as the presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia had come to an agreement in Sochi, Russia—on November 26, 2021—that the parties would take steps to increase the level of security and stability in the region.

"We [i.e., Armenia] are 100 percent committed to this statement and the obligations we have assumed. Currently, we are discussing with the Azerbaijani and Russian sides the security measures which, in our opinion, will create security and stability mechanisms at the [Armenia-Azerbaijan] border zone," the Armenian FM concluded.

Earlier, Armenia had passed on—through Russia—to Azerbaijan its proposals on the work of a border delimitation and demarcation commission.
